(67,282 posts)Right here is why Sanders lost in the 2016 and 2020 primaries. He could take this opportunity to do some self reflection but he won't. His entire political career has been characterized by blaming others for not achieving his goals.
I agree with much of what Sanders says in his speeches. However, I've never voted for him because he's never been able to achieve the goals. It's because he blames others and doesn't work as part of a team, which is essential for getting things through Congress.
He's right that the Democratic Party needs to heed these recent elections and make substantive changes in our approach. He's right that we need to give people something to hope for, aspire to, a reason to vote for Democrats other than "look at Trump he's gross and crazy."
He may be right that the Harris campaign made mistakes BUT blaming Kamala Harris publicly is not helpful. She worked her ass off to turn around a bad situation that she was handed, through no fault of her own.
Sanders comes across as petulant and whiny. We need new leaders, strong leaders, inspiring leaders.
