4. More than 30% of American workers earn less than 66% of median income.

I would love every person who parrots the "get a job" propaganda to be sentenced to live on 66% of median income for five years (and that is generous, with at least 29% of workers earning less than that).

Workers are more productive than ever before, yet median income has been stagnant for the past 45 years.



I wish more people showed up at town halls with blow ups of graphs like this that tell the horrible tale of how policies have screwed the American worker. And I would also love to see constituents challenge their Rep and Senators to 1) tell the audience what 66% of median income in their district/state is -- something I think few will be able to do, 2) challenge them to commit to live solely on that amount for a year, 3) come back after that year and have a serious talk about whether it is "worker laziness" or the immoral, unsustainable economy we have built (and that we have a moral obligation to transform) that is the problem.
