If I were I probably would have voted for Lander. I made the comment that Mamdani might do better with independents was entirely based on having read that younger people are far more likely to register as Independent than my baby boom generation coupled with many saying it was the younger people who voted for Mamdani. My husband registered as a Democrat and joined one of political groups back in the 1970s and 1980s when he lived in NYC.

I will be interested in the second round because I don't think the cross endorsements will be followed by many of the people. I would not be surprised if Cuomo actually gets more of the rolled up vote than Mamdani. I also suspect there will be a surprising number of people not including both Mamdani and Cuomo.
