Do you believe in karma? [View all]

Some believe that if enough people can clear their minds of the clutter and emotions, that nature has a way to inject its own judgement on the issues of the day.

For example, imagine you are alone, standing on the bank of a very still mountain lake. The weather is warm and the sky is a turquoise blue. You feel relaxed to be in such an environment.

You see a small pebble on the ground. It is like a small marble and it is solid white. You pick it up and look at it more closely.

Then, you toss the pebble into the still mountain lake. You can see the small waves appear as it hits the water. You wonder if the waves will make it all the way to the bank where you are standing. You watch as they get closer and closer to you.

Then, they arrive. You look up above the trees and see a small white cloud appear out of nowhere. You do not connect the marble to the cloud.

But there are many more things that we do not understand than that we do understand. Perhaps you consider it a waste of time to have read these few words? But, just think, for a minute or so, your mind was not cluttered with any political thoughts or animosities toward anyone.

Sometimes maybe, karma needs space to work.
