57. I keep saying this, but people keep advocating the 25th Amendment.

Section 4 of the Amendment is virtually useless to remove a President who has not been rendered physically incapable of contesting its use. It is not simply a matter of the VP and a majority of the principals of the executive departments saying the President is unable to discharge his duties.
That is merely the starting point.

If the President says he is capable, it eventually goes to Congress where BOTH houses would have to render a 2/3rds vote in favor of removal. In four tries at impeachment the Senate alone has never reached the requisite 2/3rds vote. It’s nonsensical that both houses would do so, even if Trump was demonstrably barking mad to everyone. The MAGAts still wouldn’t vote against him.
