I don't expect others to feel as strongly about human rights as I do so claiming I 'expect perfection' is a straw man.

And why would I think a book that advocates slavery, rape, murder and genocide is an acceptable moral guide? You do realize that the bible also instructs its followers on how to deal with witches:

Mediums and Fortune tellers

Loose women:

People who prefer other gods:

Infidels:
