… and give him one more inning (he got 4 outs, actually) to finish his career in Atlanta.

Scherzer will eventually hang up his cleats when he decides not to rehab from yet another injury. Possibly within the next calendar year.

Verlander will eventually have to be wheeled out. Why he doesn’t want to go home and be with his family is a mystery: he has nothing left to prove or achieve. Trying to outdo Jamie Moyer?
