7. A friend had one of those shift knobs

in his car when I lived in Las vegas. He kept a towel in the car to protect his hand from the thousand degree chunk of metal on the stick shift. Closed cars in the summer got real hot. The plastic knob on my little rag top only got to ambient temps.
