2. I got one the first summer of the pandemic

as a way to get me to exercise and lose weight. I started walking 2-4 miles a day, and have done it ever since, and the watch keeps track. The fitness tracker watch (a Garmin VivoSmart) connects via Bluetooth to my iPhone, which collects and displays the data I've set it up for, including heart rate, steps, sleep, calories burned, etc. It sort of reminds me to stay active, and it also has a feature that alerts me to breaking news by vibrating. When it gives me that alert I always check it right away, in case it's the big news we've all been waiting for....
