it seems to me that the idea that "money is speech" is unconstitutional because supposedly "all men are created equal" and the 14th Amendment says that everyone should have "equal protection under the law". If money is speech, then those who have more money have more freedom of speech than those who have less. Of course, the fact that many rich people already own most of the newspapers and radio and tv stations already distorts the "equal" part of this idea.
