5. The trip requires the ride alone the Maine coast, Rt 1.

Ya got Portland and Freeport and a couple of interesting towns along the way... after that, unincorporated townships with numbers, not names.

One of the towns had a lighthouse which is fogged in 180 days a year. I was there and there was a cloud bank on the horizon. It got closer over the span of about two hours and then closed in over the lighthouse. At that point, it was difficult to drive.

I suspect passports are now required to go to Campobello. Staff is very welcome to Americans. If yo go, you also need a special insurance id card to cover you in case of an accident in Canada.
