This is how my afternoon plan for Carys is going

4. I have an old broom handle from

a defunct broom that I use for hunting down aluminum foil balls and other miscellaneous toys. I lean over and slide it under the couch and chairs to force them to roll or be pushed out to one side or another. Ember is used to this retrieval of her toys. When she sees me heading to the living room with the broom handle, she sits in the middle of the floor, alert to both sides of the couch or chair to see what will come out. Sometimes I know that there is something I missed but which she remembers is there because she stays put staring at the couch, or moves closer to it and sticks her nose under it as far as it fits.

Another retrieval spot is under the stove. I remove the storage drawer from under the oven and find a slew of things that rolled or slid underneath. Also, behind the microwave cart.
