That's a great question. I, unfortunately don't have land, just a large deck that I use to grow in containers (you'd be surprised how much you can grow that way!). But as to the bees, have you considered dedicating a corner of your yard to growing wildflowers? Some of them are gorgeous and they require very little care. At least that way, when you have to mow the clover, the bees have somewhere else to forage.

I realize that doesn't help you with your current predicament...
