11. Our tomato plants are very sad looking.

We bought seedlings before Easter because last year we were able to plant in the beds by the second week of April, but waited until mid-May to plant. The incredible heat did them no favors and our harvest was awful. But then this year we were still getting nights dipping into single-digit temps and snow as recently as last week! So the plants got tall and spindly on m my windowsill. Then when we planted them on Sunday, the next two days were record highs. AND our new dog decided digging in the tomato bed was a super-fun way to beat the heat! I think I'm just going to scrap the current crop and buy some new seedlings. Sigh.
