The turning point for me came when I learned that it wasn't helping when I kept telling myself that I'd do better tomorrow. I did 90 meetings in 90 days and learned about One Day at a Time. The first day that I passed by the liquor store was a big step for me. I thought about it, but then I realized that I could make it through just today. So I did that again, and again, and they just kept adding up. In the beginning I did count the minutes and hours, until I was confident I could just do one day. Nothing bad happened, and even if it did, I could always start over tomorrow. Hang in there... Keep It Simple and Easy Does It. If I can do it, I have faith that you can...
