1. Can you still make emergency calls even without a network. We had an old car phone that worked that way.

We didn't want to take it out because it was very old and would have left a very big space on the dash. My husband has an older Samsung with a fairly big screen which he uses as a reader. He likes it better than the regular readers because of the file manager.
