3. Restoring the BIOS to default state

If there's no menu option to do this, the simplest thing to do (on a desktop PC) is remove the little lithium button-cell battery for about a minute. This supplies powers to the BIOS memory, so it can store your settings. If you remove the battery, wait about a minute, then put it back, the BIOS will be forced to reset. This will mean resetting the date and time, too, unfortunately.
