The decision to close the Shreveport plant also came a day after investment management and research firm Sanford C. Bernstein reaffirmed the strength of Dean Foods’ stock. Shares were at $21 today, $3 higher than Thursday, when the Sanford C. Bernstein research notes were released.

In its quarterly earnings report released in mid-February, Dean Foods says it had revenue increases of roughly 3.7 percent compared to the same time frame in 2012.
