1. Someone did file to run as a Democrat against him

I haven't heard much about him, but based on this article, I think it sounds like a stretch to even call him a democrat.

The KY 4th is about as red as you can get, but I do wish there would at least be some opposition. It will never change if we preemptively surrender every time.


As for the at-large format - that's interesting I didn't know it was ever done that way! Today, I don't think it would be beneficial to democrats. We get an occasional progressive house member (like Yarmuth) from Louisville. I don't think that would ever happen in a statewide election. That's just my impression, I don't have anything to back that up.
