There was no reason to do this privatization. People were very happy with IA Medicaid. It was well-run. Doctors & patients liked it.

Bumstead comes with his $50+ million savings # (with nothing to back it up)...Des Moines Register looks into it and finds out it's going to be far less than that. Regardless of the savings (if there are indeed savings), how do you get savings without cutting services? The private co's aren't going to run with lower overhead costs than the state did. Savings come from not covering things that were covered before.

People aren't going to be happy with the 3 MCO's. But what does Bumstead care. He & his cronies get the kickbacks/connections/jobs they need out of it.
