All Hallows Eve - Spooky Trick or Treat House 3 of 3, Plus an Easter Egg [View all]

Last edited Fri Oct 31, 2025, 02:41 PM - Edit history (1)

Look closely and see if you can spot the Easter Egg, something featured prominently in House 1 of 3, shown below. And below that is a closeup of what is not so obvious in today’s photo.

(An Easter egg is a message, image, or feature hidden in software, a video game, a film, a photo, or another—usually electronic—medium. The term used in this manner was coined around 1979 by Steve Wright, the then-Director of Software Development in the Atari Consumer Division, to describe a hidden message in the Atari video game Adventure, in reference to an Easter egg hunt.)

Easter Egg

These photos feature The Morgantown Power Station, Maryland. In 1971, literally the first photos taken after returning stateside from the DMZ. I was intrigued by the massive scale of this station so drove around looking for interesting scenes with it being the focal point.

All my spooky shots are best viewed full screen

To make that happen, we have a full screen slideshow that really is much better than the 1024 links. I have included some “before spookification” versions for a few of the photos to show how they were originally presented. Hope you enjoy!
