The average cost of a new car has more than doubled in the past decade, according to committee documents. It now exceeds $50,000, up from $24,296 in 2010.

So according to this, over the last Republican "decade" (15 years), the average new car price has gone up less than consumer prices overall. IOW, the inflation-adjusted average price of a new car has fallen.
