And politicians will often use activists. An activist will find a niche, and that is hard to translate into political office or even party politics. Activists rarely bend on their vision. They find people to advance their causes. A good politician serves his constituents and the constitution. An activist serves his cause. But neither can work in a vacuum or an echo chamber.

I think AOC has the right mix. People mock her stint as a bar tender and they just sound foolish to me. They really don't get how talented, smart, and driven she is. She'll walk away before she burns out or gets jaded. But I see her succeeding in a way that will inspire her to continue in politics.

David is so intense, and it's like he's fighting his parents in their house under their rules. He is trying to affect nationwide political motive. It's a lot.

I think he and the establishment are both wrong in a way. The party needs to not be shy about root Democratic motive. The root of our Democratic cause is exactly what the young are looking for, but the young want it now. The establishment should welcome fresh energy and find a way to make them excited about being classic Democrats.

In this climate, though, our establishment is content to just let trump fuck up shit while he fucks up. And it's asking a bit much to ask for patience from the young.
