Alabama mayor arrested for domestic violence in Orange Beach [View all]
Orange Beach police on Saturday reportedly arrested the mayor of Tallassee.
John Randal Hammock, 47, is being held without bond in the Baldwin County Jail, according to jail records. He was booked into the jail at 10:54 a.m. He has been charged with domestic violence - strangulation.
Orange Beach Police said they responded to a domestic dispute call around 10 p.m. Saturday on Perdido Beach Boulevard. Police found probable cause to believe he “committed an act of felony domestic violence.” He was arrested without incident.
Hammock is currently in his second term as mayor of Tallassee, situated in Tallapoosa and Elmore counties, and is running for the place one seat on the Public Service Commission.
