To illustrate, he seems to love the pejorative "like a dog" in the sense that he uses it frequently. People who love or at least like dogs don't think to use them as an object of derision. And Trump has sometimes even used it in contexts where it doesn't even make sense, like "he lies like a dog" type of thing.

I bet it's because dog's generally hate his mongrel ass. They're smart like that.
