Lady Vols basketball suffers largest defeat in Kim Caldwell era to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. — In need of a strong road performance, Lady Vols basketball got anything but that. It was blown out at Kentucky, 82-58, suffering its largest defeat in Kim Caldwell's tenure.

No. 11 Tennessee (21-7, 8-7 SEC) suffered its largest defeat of the season against the No. 15 Wildcats (22-5, 11-4).

With the loss, Tennessee is no longer capable of earning the double bye in the SEC Tournament. The major defeat hurts Tennessee's NCAA Tournament position as well.

Entering Thursday's game, the largest margin of defeat Caldwell's Lady Vols was a seven-point loss to South Carolina. The loss is tied for the seventh largest in program history.
