Hi all you smart DU computer folk

Why, when I do a post, is there a button that automatically is checked and says, "Add to Journal" and yet to the right of that, it says "always uncheck"? I'm curious why this is. I NEVER uncheck that button. Am I some type of a rebel and just don't know it? If somebody can illuminate me on this quandary, I will be somewhat satisfied. 🤔


PS.- Technical advice needs to be on a sub-6th grade level. Thanks 🙏

1. That button is unchecked for me,and it has an "always check" option.

Under My Du, Account Settings, there is an always add to journal option. I have it checked as "NO". I'm guessing you have it specified as YES.

I must've checked the box many years ago. Just curious why you wouldn't want it checked if I may ask? Myself, I like to keep a list on all my posts.

4. I don't really use the DU journal. I keep track of things on my PC.

3. It's so you have a choice

Some people want to post everything to their Journal, other people don’t. For example, I only keep my pics in my Journal, I don’t record any other posts there.

If you uncheck the checkbox it will stay unchecked just for that post. If you click “always uncheck” it will remember your setting, and the box will always be unchecked every time you post.

So I have mine set to “always uncheck,” and whenever I post a pic I check the checkbox just for that post.
