1. If you don't mind, I'll refer you to the post I made earlier today

In addition, note that an onslaught of fact-checking is already occurring publicly in the thread, which is very useful for anyone who stumbles upon the misinformation. My general feeling about this is that seeing those responses helps people to learn that they should not necessarily take everything at face value that they see published on the Internet, and will also help people to correct the record if they see this particular piece of misinformation posted elsewhere. Finally, the recs are irrelevant because the thread has been excluded from the Greatest page and the home page.

2. I wonder if having a thread pinned to the top of GD for alerts to be posted as replies would be a good

idea. Something like:

Please post here to report NEW OPs that appear questionable because they're fake news, false quotes, or AI slop.

Include the type of questionable message and at least the start of the thread title in the reply title, followed by a link to the questionable thread and a brief explanation of why it's questionable.

Don't post duplicates - just rec a reply you see reporting the thread you were planning to report - unless you know of additional reasons why that thread is questionable, in which case you should reply in that subthread.

Once one of these pinned threads starts to get too long, it could be locked and unpinned so it sinks, with a new thread posted and pinned.

This would let EarlG and forum hosts know of new problem posts very quickly.

And then they.could lock that problem thread before it gets a lot of recs.
