Winter Storm Warning Issued as 2 Feet of 'Heavy' Snow Coming This Weekend

America's 250th birthday sits right around the corner as millions across the United States prepare for July 4th weekend. Just a few days before, though, some will be contending with significant snowfall as a strong winter storm barrels through.

This weekend three states are battling as much as 24 inches of snowfall despite the calendar sitting in late June.

Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are all bracing for a significant snowstorm that could cause potential travel threats.

The Great Falls office of the National Weather Service issued a statement on social media revealing snow is expected to start falling on Saturday night and will continue through Monday morning. The statement included a warning to start evacuating some regions if possible.

"Mountain snow is expected starting tonight and then continuing into Monday morning. The snow is expected mainly above 6500 feet. Those unprepared for snowy conditions in the back country should try to move to lower elevations before the snow arrives," it said.

Would be fitting, given what we’ve learned lately about the 80-year-old Toddler-In-Chief’s hygiene habits.

Had ice, hail, snow we left from the Northeast exit into Beartooth mountains. It was scary. The road was closed just after we got through. Red Lodge it was cold.

NM is on the warm side of the vortex, so just unseasonable thunderstorms here. One forecast video I saw predicted an ice storm all the way down to I-40, which runs across Oklahoma.
