Only undefeated team left in the NFL.
I'm not a KC fan, but I have to give these guys credit for this level of success during a season when they've been ravaged by injuries. For example, top Chiefs receivers today were Noah Gray and Samaje Perine. Top rusher was Kareem Hunt.
That wasn't the way it was scripted when the season started!
Defense has held up pretty darn well too.

(5,899 posts)Losing McCafery was a major blow, and when you've got Deebo and Jennings it's hard to be on their game. Add to that they played the Chiefs, and Aiyuk goes down. Injuries could ruin the Forty Niners this year if they can't get healthy.

(22,840 posts)Like the Chiefs, the 49ers have lost a lot of key players to injury early this season. But unlike the 6-0 KC squad, San Fran is 3-4.

(5,899 posts)and only having backups in changed everything. Hard to beat the top team in the league when your stars are watching on the sidelines.

(22,840 posts)Left the game today:
JuJu Smith-Schuster
Jaylen Watson
Didn't play today:
Jauan Jennings
Marquise Brown (out for the season)
Rashee Rice (out for the season)
Isiah Pacheco (went down in Week 2 for 6 to 8 weeks)
Clyde Edwards-Helaire
With all that talent on the sidelines, the Chiefs have no business being undefeated! Yet they've done it.
As an aside, KC has won 7 out of the last 8 meetings against the 49ers, so it seems they have their number.

(5,899 posts)It should be noted that Jauan Jennings is a Niner.

(22,840 posts)Still plenty of out-of-commission players among the Chiefs.

(22,840 posts)Ricky Pearsall on the field today. Perhaps he can earn more targets as early as next week when Dallas comes to town.

(22,840 posts)But there's still a whole lot of Tom Brady achievements that Mahomes has yet to approach.
The two of them actually had an interview air today, in case you missed it:

I did miss the interview. Thank you for the link.

(446 posts)He's absolutely the best right now, but he has a few more Super Bowls to win before he can realistically be considered the GOAT. If you were to ask him, I'm sure he'd tell you today wasn't one of his better games.
It absolutely matters that he plays for arguably the smartest, best-run organization in the league.

(27,327 posts)I fell asleep during the second quarter. First thing I did when I woke up was check the final.
Fun fact:
Taylor Swift had screens set up at various places, like hallways and restrooms, at her Eras Tour event today with the game on. Isn't she something? Must be love!
Go Taylor and Go Chiefs!
Thanks for sharing this, True.
