I don't understand the reasoning behind throwing to home rather than 1st base, even though the pitcher bobbled the ball, he still had plenty of time to throw to 1st and get Pages, thereby ending the inning.
Full disclosure: I was rooting for the Dodgers to win, but not like this.

Pitchers have trouble throwing a fielded ball to a base accurately. Its weird.
