This is the longest I've been without a dog - or two - since I was 11. They really do make our lives better.

and I'm still grieving, I will never stop. My home is not a home, it's is a dead zone.
If my dogs aren't in my after life I'll be pretty mad. She still comes and visits me. Often it is at 11:00 AM, that's when she died.

All of my dogs have been rescue except my first dog who my father brought us when I was 11. My uncle, who trained his own dogs (collies) got my Dad a book on how to train your cocker spaniel (my Dad had grown up with a cocker), but my Dad was busy and had a responsible job, so I was the one who read that book and ran out of things to teach her. I loved that dog more than anything. And since I've adopted from rescue, mostly older dogs except for Jack, and I've loved every one of them just as much. And I truly know how you feel.

Thank you for posting! Kevin is amazing, but I was especially taken by the one that had to hold hands and lock eyes. My 12- year old has become sooooo spoiled and demanding these last few weeks...I almost lost him, but he is doing so much better. Now he demands my FULL attention. If I don't pet him, while talking to him sweetly, AND looking at him, he barks at me in the most disturbing and demanding way. He wants ALL my attention, ALL the time! But it's ok. I love him so, so much!
