My boys take such good care of me
Saturday, my brother and I went on a quick road trip to the Chicago area (Homewood) to watch a Roller Derby Match (The Chicago Knockouts.) That's my brother's girlfriend's team. He also works with them, making lots of drives to Illinois.
We left at 2:30pm and arrived back home at 3:30am on Sunday. I had a great time, met lots of really nice people, but it was also exhausting.
I fed the kid cats at 4am so I could get a FEW hours of uninterrupted sleep. That was about 3 hours of sleep because Merlin wanted to know why I wasn't awake, up, dressed, singing to them and telling them how much I love them. So I got on with my day, still pretty tired.
In the afternoon I stretched out on the living room sofa, beneath a nice blanket, and fell asleep. I woke up, absolutely covered in snuggling kid cats. I hadn't slept for very long but I guess the feline magic was at work and it made just a short stretch of sleep feel very refreshing.
Where would I be without them. OK, possibly on a world cruise but I still think staying put is worth it because they bring me so much more than I could ever give them.
