Sandwiches of the Seventies: Spam and Branston Pickle

"When I was very young, I went on a school trip and special sandwiches were provided ... The memory of those sandwiches has stayed with me to this day ... but I haven't tried them since. Now it's time to put that right and pass on the excitement to todays' generation"

Slice it thinner and fry it in a cast iron skillet until crispy. Slap those slices between two slices of white bread - mustard on the bottom and Miracle Whip on top.

Serve with Fritos and sweet tea.

Sadly, I don’t eat this anymore.

Don’t know about the pickle.

Also the thinly sliced fried spam & Branston pickle sounds like some thing I would try.

I'd use the rest of the spam the next day for spam& kim chi fried rice.

I am a huge fan of long-form media, so it's not an attention issue on my part. Just waaaaay too much extraneous stuff going on. Poor editing.

with alfalfa sprouts, on whole wheat or multigrain bread, the denser the better: that was the thing to eat when I moved to California in the mid 70s.

I'll say I'll try anything once, and I've already tried Spam (twice, in fact), so I can pass on this one - especially for slices that thick. I'll take the Branston pickle, though.

Once in awhile.

Also peanut butter, mayonnaise and lettuce on bread. Potato chips are nice on a bologna sandwich.
