Global Shortages Are Spreading
And Its Getting Serious
The economic impact of the war in Iran is now going far beyond oil and gas.
In this video, I take a closer look at the emerging shortages of critical materials that are starting to disrupt global supply chains including helium, fertilizers, and other essential industrial inputs.
Helium isnt just used for balloons its a vital component in semiconductor manufacturing, MRI scanners, aerospace, and advanced electronics. With supply already tight and major exporters like Qatar affected by regional instability, shortages are now starting to impact the global tech industry.
At the same time, Russia has restricted exports of ammonium nitrate a key fertilizer used in agriculture. Combined with earlier export controls from countries like China and production cuts in Europe due to high energy prices, this is tightening global fertilizer supply and could lead to higher food prices worldwide.
These shortages are part of a much bigger picture.
With disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, rising energy costs, and increasing pressure on supply chains, we are now seeing the early stages of a broader global supply shock.
This could mean:
Higher inflation
Slower economic growth
Supply chain disruptions
Rising food and energy costs
This is a story that is developing quickly and could have major consequences for the global economy throughout 2026.
