I clear history on my iMac but then on my iPad all my sign on's and passwords are all erased, and I have to individually enter them again. Why does this happen only on my iPad?? I don't lose my passwords on the iMac. Crazy. Is it even a good idea to delete previous history?? Thanks.

(18,014 posts)there is an item to "Remove history items"
I have mine set for "After one day" and it seems to take care of the problem..
Note one day in human time seems to be 2 days in Apple time.

(33,379 posts)Whenever I delete history on my iMac, the iPad erases all my passwords so that I have to re-enter them all. But on the iMac they're there and I don't have to re-enter them. Just curious. And thanks again.

(18,014 posts)Like on my Mac DU auto logs in because the password is in the keychain. But on my iPhone it doesn't auto log in. I have to press the "login" on the DU page. It will bring up the member log-in popup.
I tap the password box and the iPhone brings up the keyboard with a "AutoFill Password" beside the Done icon.
I just tap the AutoFill Password and it fills in the login and password. I touch the login icon and I am in.
This also works on website on the mac that do not populate the login and password. On the Mac, just click the KEY symbol in the password box.
