Seattle Storm co-owner nears opening of pickleball facility in Interbay

Seattle Storm co-owner Ginny Gilder will take her game to a different court in the coming weeks.

Gilder is one of the developers behind Interbay's Pickle at the Palms, a facility expected to open in the next five to eight weeks. It marks the completion of a three-year project on a major traffic corridor.

The 50,000-square-foot, 20-court indoor pickleball facility is just south of the Ballard Bridge at 3435 15th Ave. W. It's a block away from the Storm's $64 million training facility, which opened in 2024.

"You need places where people can gather and that draw them in and don't create such a high bar for entry," Gilder said. "It's designed to draw people in and create a community. In this case, you get to play something."
