Apartment project to break ground near Redmond's Overlake Village Station

A badly needed affordable housing project breaks ground next month in Redmond, moving the city one step closer to its goal of creating 20,000 new homes by 2044.

Located next to the Overlake Village light rail station at 2888 Da Vinci Ave. NE, Prisma is scheduled to open in 2028 and will offer 328 apartments ranging from studios to one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

The six-story, mixed-use development in the Redmond Overlake Village neighborhood will provide homes for low- to moderate-income households with 30% to 80% of the area median income, according to developer and manager Bellwether Housing.

In its 2026 state legislative agenda, the city says 75% of the 20,000 needed homes should serve households with no more than 50% of the area median income, noting that funding is necessary. In King County, the annual area median income is around $110,000 for a single-person household.
