Naval Station Everett training may be noisy, Navy warns
EVERETT Residents may hear loud noises or see more first responder vehicles than usual due to a planned training exercise taking place at Naval Station Everett beginning Monday, according to the Navy.
The Navy is taking efforts to minimize disruptions to the nearby community, it wrote in a press release, but there may be times when the training exercise increases traffic around the base or causes delays to accessing the base because of temporary gate closures or other activities.
Residents may also see first responders as part of the exercise. Some sounds, including explosive noises and emergency notification announcements, may also be heard, the Navy wrote. These are simulations as part of the training, according to the Navy, and pose no safety risk.
The training is known as Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain. The Navy referred to it as an anti-terrorism exercise.
