Special elections in Manhattan, Queens: What you need to know

pecial elections are taking place for three seats in the state Legislature, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani's former seat in Queens.

The seats up for election are: the 36th Assembly District in Queens, the 74th Assembly District in Manhattan and the 47th state Senate District in Manhattan.

Early voting began Saturday, Jan. 24, but was suspended on Sunday, Jan. 25 and Monday, Jan. 26 due to the winter storm that hit the five boroughs. It resumes at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27 and runs through Sunday. Feb. 1. Election Day is Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Check the city Board of Elections’ website to see if your neighborhood is included in the special elections.
