Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is blasting the Trump administration’s plan to remove hometown hero Henry Johnson’s name from a U.S. Army base, calling it an “affront to the community.”

1. There goes the name of the Asheville VA hospital, named after Charles George, a Cherokee

tribe member who posthumously received the Medal of Honor for throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his fellow soldiers during the Korean War.

3. This continues Trump's assault on black military servicemen and women.

If they follow their usual course of action, they will rename the base after a white Army man.

Erasing the name of a hometown hero is truly petty. What's even more galling is knowing that somewhere in the bowels of MAGA world taxpayers are paying some young white male to seek out and erase all of the people of color from history.

I'm waiting for TACO to rename the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) after himself, because it is the largest aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy and the world. It will have to have his full name emblazoned in gold letters on the hull, as well as painted on the deck.
