Currie, Plumer win re-election to county chair posts
Passaic County Democrats re-elected John Currie to another term as county chairman, a post hes held since 1990, without opposition.
When Currie was first elected, Republicans held a 7-0 majority on the Board of Freeholders. Under Curries leadership, Democrats won two seats in 1996 and two more in 1997; Democrats have been in control since then.
Together, we have built one of the strongest Democratic organizations in New Jersey, and I am grateful for the trust our members have once again placed in me, Currie said. I look forward to continuing our work to elect Democrats at every level, strengthen our organization, and deliver results for the residents of Passaic County.
Former Woodland Park Councilwoman Christine Tiseo was elected vice chair. She had taken on the post on an interim basis after Barbara Tannis resigned. Tiseo is the Democratic nominee for mayor in the November election and has no opposition.
