New Orleans' early voting turnout indicates high interest in October election

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Come January 2026, someone new will occupy the mayor’s office at New Orleans’ City Hall.

And New Orleanians are casting ballots in large numbers to determine who that person will be.

“Voters have been enthusiastic. They have come out,” Orleans Parish Registrar Lisa Marie Manning Bridges said. “They know what they want to do. They know who they want to vote for. And they are coming out with high energy and in droves, getting it done.”

Early voting began last Saturday and runs through this Saturday (Oct. 4) at 6 p.m.
