(155,608 posts)This tree is part of a hedge of Bottlebrush trees that are in the park where the farmer's market is held every week.
They are very hardy and do well with minimal care. I had not seen them blooming before today.
Mousetoescamper was talking about a different flowering plant.

I really shouldn't eat stuff like that, so I normally don't.

(155,608 posts)The keyhole object: Twice a year, the sun sets exactly opposite the structure. The dates are displayed on a metal plaque at the base.
People line up to snatch a photo while this is happening.
The colors looked especially bright and vivid this morning, so I photographed it!
