Zones from tropical rain forests to alpine meadows. That's quite a range.
My niece did some field work there a while back, the poor thing!
She has to spend an ENTIRE summer on a beach on the Gulf side ofCostaRica,studying sea turtles.
That must have been awful!

I'm down on the southern pacific coast near golfito. I've got about 100 acres of rain forest and I live up on top of the mountain with the forest below me.

so, do you get the red eyed tree frog up there? I've seen photos of them from the Arenal area but I don't know if they are naturally occurring there or if they are at a tourist place. I have them here at my place but they are not as beautifully colorful as the ones on the Caribbean slope:
