Related: About this forumKurtz's Mill Covered Bridge in snow
The bridge stands over Mill Creek in Lancaster County Central Park. Originally built in 1876, it stood over the nearby Conestoga River before it was destroyed by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. It was relocated to the Central Park site and rebuilt in 1975.
I'd been looking forward to getting a shot of the bridge after Sunday's snow (7+ inches), but found that its access road was closed when I got to the park this afternoon. After a half-mile hike through a winter wonderland I arrived at the bridge.

(217 posts)of a romantic, historical place.
In 1914, my grandfather's brother designed Jack's Creek covered bridge in Patrick Co. VA. It was built by someone else. However, in 1921, he designed and built the Bob White covered bridge, also in Patrick Co. Both were listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
Sadly, the Bob White bridge was lost during flooding in 2015. Plans to re-build are in the works.

Ill bet that was a *brisk* hike !! Love old covered bridges. The setting in your photos is very scenic.
Theyre re-building one about an hour north of me and I cant wait to see the final result and photograph it.
