(38,125 posts)with the diagonal brick pattern there! Maples really provide awesome fall color. I should know, we have about 20 of them to rake up after.

(6,500 posts)That's a lot of leaves to rake, especially if they're large trees! I have a fig tree and a lilac bush in my postage-stamp yard. The neighbor's two tall hollies ride the property line and drop leaves into the yard, but overall there's not much to rake.

(38,125 posts)We have 3 acres here. Sophie gets a back yard of about 1 3/4 acres of fenced in yard to run around in. Its nice except for in the fall.

(6,500 posts)The leaves in my photo are from a sugar maple. They're very common here along the city streets and in yards.

(154,868 posts)We lack the colorful foliage that you have. I think the only tree that turns here is the liquidamber. They are gorgeous but they're in the minority.

(6,500 posts)We have American sweetgum here, which is a species of liquidambar.
