thats the key i found. rather than a single shot i take a short video (2 minutes in this case).
then i use a free software package called Siril
in Siril i do the following steps
1)open the video. it will ask abour converting to SER formal and i hit cancel
2) draw a box around the moon
3) use the registration tab and hit go register
4) use the stacking tab . under image rejection use quality. change the % fro 90 (the default i belive) to something around 25-33 percent
5) hit start stacking.

once its finished it will save teh final image in a format called FIT. save it as a tiff or jpg file (tiff is much better). then you can edit it in photoshop or whatever program you use

teh registration and stacking takes a little time since it has to go thru and use 30 frames/second X however long the video is.

after editing teh image to your liking open it in photoshop
open a new hue/saturation adjustment layer
increase teh saturation 15-20% or so
duplicate the layer and keep duplication it until the colors are where you want them (it might take 5-10 duplications)

It's the most detailed image of the moon surface that I have ever seen! Well done!
