(34,605 posts)I have told this story many times but feel so lucky to have the story.
One of those guys lived just around the corner from me. They used to practice in the garage and we could all hear them. They were everywhere but I was just too many years younger to really have gotten in with them. They would say hi and a couple of them knew who I was (the dumb girl on her bike sitting at the driveway getting into it). As I got older they were gone a lot then they came back for a while. Then we could all get to know them a bit or a lot. Kerry Livgren loaned me his generator when I was getting my barn built 20 odd years ago, not because he knew me but because his brother and nephew were building the barn. *I guess that means it was loaned to them, lol not me. For a time when I was much younger I hung around enough to feel a part of it but not as much as I would have liked to. I was OK until the religion creeped in and I skipped that time.
