If they really are coming to clean, your pre-cleaning will leave them the harder places to clean. You'll get more deep cleaning out of it.

If it's regrets over hiring them, a bit late.

I have a cleaning service come in once a week and I still make sure my kitchen sinks are spotless and my beds are made, etc. Then they come in and clean over what I cleaned. It makes no sense. 🤷🏼😅

5. My daughter has a cleaner

The cleaner does a great job, but my daughter precleans. If the family leaves things laying out, the cleaner puts them away, and some things are lost. Over the last few years, lost track of a medical form, shoes, hats, and sports equipment. Those are just things I've looked for. The family learned to put the stuff away, or be prepared for a long fruitless search. Everyone in the family, including the pets, tend to leave trails of stuff through the rooms.

If I hired a cleaner, they'd choke back sobs and leave

Sometimes I do it anyway, if I have the time. This is a big house. I am doing windows right now. When I do that, I clean the rest of the room as well.

I like my cleaner. She is thorough.

Their cleaner takes care of the pets while she's there, too. I'm planning to have an auction next year, and then I'll hire Hercules to clean the stables, so to speak

They have a cleaning service every other week they come to clean. Some things are "extra" and cost more such as changing sheets.

9. I have two separate jobs

One is being a paid care giver. The other is independent house cleaning. Sometimes my care giver jobs pertains to light housekeeping.

The reason I mentioned the care giver job is because I do some light housekeeping here and there. I have a client that hires a cleaning company that comes in to clean every so often. This company totally misses spiderwebs on top of a lampshades and on the chandeliers. There's still dust particles on top of surfaces when I arrive the following day after the cleaning company has been there. They do a great job cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen and the floors, although they completely miss spider webs and the dust.

I use to clean for another client once every two weeks. Once I learned how they liked their comforter on the bed and how a blanket was to be displayed on top of the comforter at the foot of the bed, this client would start the bedsheets in the wash right before I got there. That helped me focus on the bathroom first while the bedsheets were in the wash. I'd just be finishing up the bathroom when the bedding was ready to be put into the dryer.

It's alright to discard trash or basic clutter sitting around, organizing items and tidying up a bit before you're cleaning person shows up.
